You can't always get what you want

Each time when a breeder plans the mating he has much
expectations from the litter. And when it isn't first
litter, the breeder hopes to have a litter better then
previous was. And of course a breeder wait and hope for the
perfect child he'd like to keep. This is my 4th litter and
it is first time when I told to myself I have to keep a girl
out of it. This was not easy to decide, but my heart told me
I have to go ahead and I do.
This is the biggest paradox of breeding. From one side you
wish to breed the most perfect cat, from the other side you
know that there doesn't exist any perfect cat and you have
what you have and you chose the way where to go ahead. This
isn't easy for me. This litter was very interesting to me to
work with, very good bloodlines and really short muzzles and
so much expectations. But I had to make the most difficult
decision for me. From one side I had much girls and had the
variety to choose from, from other side that was my first
big examination as a breeder. All girls are very different
and all of them have their own good points and bad. And I
could see the most beautiful girl will develop from the
brown kitten. I know I will feel very sorry I have sold her
but I had to choose and I did it. I have chosen not the best
girl in the litter, but that one who has those points I wish
my future kittens had.
This was a story about me as a breeder, and now is the story
about my adorable child Wickie.
Wickie is from the first litter I have from both my own
producers. This is very important thing as I know both
parents, their temper and both was chosen by me! They has
very different bloodlines, but both are very nice with much
beautiful cats in the pedigree and I am very interested in
working with them. Many thanks to Malin and Carla for
sharing those lines!
I think most of you know Jeka-Mis Sweet Wictor. He is a
legend and he is my favourit male. I am so happy I have his
lines and I can inbreed on him. He is grand-grandfather to Bella
and grand-grand-grandfather to Wickie. Wickie was called to his
honor, dolce means sweet from Italian. I hope this girl will
give us kittens as good as she is and as her grand-grand-grandfather was. |
